Example: 

Left hand column:
  • Sundance looks at door. (Is that for me?)
  • Michael gets up and opens door. (Yes.)
  • Sundance walks away. (I don't want it.) 
Right hand column:
  • Sundance looks at door. (Is that for me?)
  • Michael continues to work on computer. (No.)
  • Sundance commences to whine and scratch at door until the paint peels away in long strips. (That's for me.)

    In people this is called 'narcissistic personality disorder'.

    Whereas in cats, it is called standard operating procedure. Hope Canada was a delight, BTW.
