We braved the ice -- the roads weren't too bad once we got away from Berry and Birchwood -- and finally went into Madison so I could use my Barnes & Noble gift card from Ted and Cynthia. There are two B&N stores in Madison, and the one on the west side of town has a large used book section as well as the usual B&N bargain books. So I was able to pick up a novel, two collections of short stories and this little dragon, Ruby, to add to my weir. (A weir is one of the terms used of a group of dragons, at least in some fantasy novels. Like a pride of lions or a pack of wolves or a pod of whales or an exaltation of larks.)Tom made fun of the dragon while we were standing in the checkout line, and I reminded him of a bumper sticker I had seen: Don't mess with dragons, because you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
Anyway, thanks again to Cynthia and Ted for the card. Now if I can just get all the pictures I got for Christmas framed and on the wall.
