Gratitude

One of my little meditative habits, chants, whatever, is "May N be well; may N be happy; may N be free from suffering."

A conversation with a casual acquaintance Sunday night about how to change one's attitude, made me reflect on that habitual  prayer/wish/desire. Since then I have often modified it:

"May N be well; may N be happy; may N be filled with gratitude."

This is particularly helpful when N = Michael.

  1. Loving-kindness Meditation beckons, but also intimidates me. Even when I can work up the enthusiasm, energy, and desire to grow in compassion -- I get lost in the formula!

Your compact version seems more realistic to my limited resources ;-)
Focusing on gratitude = living in resurrection

    Thank you

  2. LOL- Funny you should mention this. I've been trying to be complaint free(verbally) for 30 days straight. I just cant seem to do it- so Instead I've started doing THIS-

I still try for being complaint free- but if I fail- I have to think of 5 things I'm grateful for. EVERY TIME I voice a complaint.

Eventually I will make it to the 30 days without a verbal complaint. I cant help where my MIND goes, but I do have some control over opening my mouth and spraeding the doom and gloom......right?

    :)
