What's not to love about fresh and hot beignets dusted in a snow fall of powdered sugar?!? Or drowned in a sugary Glaze and coated with Mardi Gras Sugar!!!!
Oh Dear- now I want Donuts....again. Sigh..... Can't wait for Tuesday so I can have Pancakes.
I like the fact that I didn't even notice the plastic baby perched on the top edge of this kings cake at first. I used to be in New Orleans right before Mardi Gras for meetings and had king cake at least once a day, and I learned to eat carefully lest I break a tooth on the doll. And beignets! At the Café du Monde! Watching the world go by ...
