My Dictionary.com app's word for the day is phillumenist. For some reason, it correctly defines this as a collector of matchbooks in one place, but then defines it in another as "a tightrope walker." Beneath the tightrope walker (ha!) definition, it gives examples that clearly apply to the matchbook definition and explains the origin of the word in a way that applies only to the matchbook connection.
For what it's worth, the term for a tightrope walker -- beside foolhardy -- is funambulist.
An anomalist, of course, is a person who is interested in exceptional cases.
