Thursday morning things

We woke to minus 11 degrees this morning. (-24 C) At least it is sunny and not windy and should warm up to a balmy 17 later in the day. (-8.3 C)

Given the temps, Tom and I both worked in the basement today. I started developing Wacky and enjoyed getting into the story. The WhoVille tales flow, at least in the writing. It is hard to tell if this one will merit an entire book or if it will run its course as a novella. No rush, no push, no deadlines.
I had mistyped "run its course" as "fun its course." Prophetic, I hope!
Tom, realizing suddenly that his twin grandchildren will celebrate their first birthday in April, thought he needed to get to work on completing that painting of Noah's ark he began a while back for their nursery. (If you click on this link, you will see an earlier photo of the ark and note that the same kind of weather sent us to the basement on similar projects in November, 2013.)

Here is the ark at the moment:

He has it on his worktable at the moment, making it hard for me to get a good shot. But you get the idea. The canvas is about 3 feet by 3 feet. (.91 m x .91 m)
