I read that many children do not consider the Fourth of July a holiday because it lacks the two essential elements:
1) There are no presents.I hope you and yours have a good holiday -- presents, school or not.
2) It comes during summer and so doesn't get them out of school.

that's CRAZY.. second favorite Sankary holiday after Thanksgiving. Third for the kids I guess. BUT it's right up there, especially after the fantastic all-lake water fight we had at the lake Saturday. Plus fireworks, and great BBQ.. all goodness.
I used to love the Fourth, too. There was always a big family party at my grandparents' lake, because it was also my grandmother's birthday.
