Camilla Eyring Kimball was the grandmother of Chris Kimball, himself a former colleague of Tom's from their Kirkland & Ellis days in Chicago and one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Camilla was the wife of Spencer Kimball, 12th President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as well as the grandfather of our friend Chris. Spencer Kimball was the one who guided the Mormons to accepting black men into the ordained priesthood back in 1978.
