Snowbirds

Well, we woke up to another two inches plus of snow and it kept up a gentle fall through much of the morning.

The bird feeders, as a result, have been swamped. Nuthatches, finches, chickadees, hairy woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, red-bellied woodpeckers (are you detecting a theme here?), cardinals, juncos.

A couple of days ago when I refreshed the suet cages, I noticed deer tracks in the snow. I haven't seen any deer on the property lately, but some had clearly been up quite close to the house. We haven't seen any turkeys for a while, either, but if the snow keeps up, they will probably find their way back to check under the feeders for scraps.
