Room with a view

Only joking! At the moment (about 2:00 p.m.) we are perfectly safe. Vince called a little while ago to check on us, and since we are national news, I called Daddy to let him know not to worry when they see the news about Wisconsin Dells washing away. Tom wisely built the house on the highest point on his land, and even though the ground is saturated, we are not likely to have any flooding and we are not at risk from any dams or rivers. The pond down the road did wash out part of the newly repaired Berry Road, and parts of Birchwood Road are gone as well. When I was trying to get home from the library, I couldn't even get to Trout Road -- an alternate route -- because it was closed. If worse comes to worst, we are well supplied with water and food, batteries for the flashlights and radio, books to read and cats to cuddle.

Well, Wisconsin Dells claims to be the Waterpark Capital of the World. (It's even a registered trademark.) This will teach them!
