Picnic in the park

Today we head to the Dells to join a group of friends for a cookout in Bowman Park downtown. Tom used to do the grilling for this annual event, but this year someone else stepped up to do the honors. Tom plans to help out, though. After enjoying the Market Street Diner's  fish fry last night, we picked up an assortment of cookies from their bakery to contribute to the cause today.

This will be my second trip to the Dells this week, Tom's third. He goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays to do volunteer work at the little railroad. I don't get up there at all regularly. I went on Wednesday to take a former co-worker out to lunch and to have coffee with a neighbor who lived across Berry Road from us. I also ran by the library to check in and to congratulate one of the librarians on her upcoming retirement at the end of the summer.

The weather looks promising for today -- sunny and hot, but we will be in the shade of a pavilion and staying hydrated.

Hope you enjoyed your picnic. I haven't done something like that in such a long, long time.
