On Joe's blog, The Closet Professor, a couple of days ago he quoted an article about Colton Haynes who quoted Ben Loory (are you following me so far?): "Once there was a man who was afraid of his shadow. Then he met it. Now he glows in the dark."

The quote is from Loory's story, "The Shadow."  Loory is an American short fiction writer (born 1971) based in Los Angeles. His first book, a collection entitled Stories for Nighttime and Some for the Day, was published by Penguin in 2011. This image is from Loory's own website:
