Snowy May memories

Talking about cold May weather ...

The second week of May in 1990, the novices and I took off for a program in Dubuque. When we returned to Holy Hill on May 11, a surprise snow storm had come through and blanketed the area, knocking down tree limbs and generally looking like a tornado had been there. Hartford (the nearby small town) made national news because of all the damage. It took weeks to clean up the mess. The forecast had called for temperatures in the mid-60s (18.3 C) on May 10.

This was just a few weeks before I was elected prior of Holy Hill, something I considered much more disastrous than a freak snowfall.
