Writing wanderings

After being away from any sustained work on Wacky in WhoVille for a while, I am back at it. Things are mostly moving along according to plan, but the story has taken an unexpected turn in some ways: not exactly romantic but maybe a hint more of the erotic. Nothing explicit, trust me! But a couple of the characters are decidedly acting up and out. At this point, it doesn't look like this will be a major factor in the book and it may get edited out of the final version. One thing I have learned from writing fiction: even the writer doesn't always know what is going to happen.

Maybe this stuff crept in because, you know, in the spring a young man's fancy ... Maybe an old man's fancy, too. After all I am just two weeks away from turning 65.

PS -- Happy Cinco de Mayo! I am cooking Tex-Mex for dinner tonight. And for those who don't know, Cinco de Mayo is not the Mexican equivalent of Fourth of July. It commemorates the victory of Mexican forces over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It is in some ways more a thing in the State of Coahuila. Mexico's Independence Day is September 16.
