Anaplasmosis or Ehrlichiosis

Tonight Tom's doctor called to say further tests indicate that he has a tick-borne disease, anaplasmosis or ehrlichiosis. They are very similar, anaplasmosis being the more common in the Midwest. We are on our way to pick up a prescription for doxycycline. It can be serious, and we will see if the antibiotic works.

The good news, of course, is now they are actually treating something and not just trying to get his fever down.

I guess it's not just going to work its way out of his system without help.

Just a worried "lurker" from Blue Mounds, WI
Hope Tom is on the mend and that things improve rapidly.
LOVE to read your blog. Work in Monona, across from Olbrich Gardens.
It is fun to be able to relate to the places you mention. BTW was the Indian
Restaurant that you went to for your birthday Swagat? I enjoy their food.
Be well
