Except for His Wings

Well, this project is about to take flight. I have the digital proof in hand. That is an image of the front cover. I am sure that, unlike Icarus, it will not attempt to soar too near the sun, melt and fall into the sea. No such exalted aspirations. I told Tom that I expect to sell four or five copies.

Today I am making the final corrections. Once I submit those for approval, the book will get its final go-ahead, most likely tomorrow. Here's hoping!

The Kindle version should be available a day or two later and the print version ten days to two weeks after that from Amazon.com.

Next on the authorial agenda is completing Wacky in WhoVille. The National Novel Writing Month people sponsor a similar project in April called Camp NaNoWriMo. It is less structured but also designed to help keep you writing every day. Among the suggestions is using it to complete a novel and do a good edit. I am thinking about signing on for that. I find the commitment does motivate me to keep pedal to the metal or the pencil to the page or the fingers to the keyboard.

If you are interested in such motivation for your own writing, here is their pitch:
"Camp NaNoWriMo is open to all writing projects. Whether you want to write a novel, edit a close-to-final draft, or tackle a script, some short stories, or a nonfiction work, Camp NaNoWriMo welcomes any seed of inspiration."
Click here to get to the web page. There is no charge for participation and you can use as much or as little of what's on offer as you wish.
