That is a grasshopper at Chapultepec in Mexico City. Chapultepece (Park, Castle, etc) is across the street from the monastery where I stayed while studying in Mexico for three summers back in the mid-seventies. The name means "grasshopper hill" in Aztec. This sculpture, I think, is contemporary but done in a style reminiscent of pre-Columbian Mesoamerican art.

I was goingyoday it looks like a mexican statue of a grasshopper... sometimes i suprisemyself!
