Yom Kippur, the Sabbath of Sabbaths, the Day of Atonement, begins at sundown this evening and ends tomorrow evening. Dedicated to repentance and atonement, it is the holiest day of the year for the Jewish community. It completes the High Holy Days, the Ten Days of Awe, that began at Rosh Hashanah.
