North to Bayfield

Today we head to Pine Point Cottage, located between Bayfield and Washburn on Lake Superior, a five-hour drive north. According to their web site, 

Pine Point Cottage is situated on two beautifully landscaped acres overlooking Lake Superior. The cottage is situated between Bayfield and Washburn on State Hwy. 13. The convenient location allows easy access to the amenities the area offers, plus the peaceful tranquility of lake living outside the hustle and bustle of the city. Each bedroom at Pine Point has a Lake Superior view. Two outdoor decks offer relaxing vistas after a day of sight seeing. Amenities include flat screen TVs, DVDs,CD player,WiFi, telephone service, laundry area, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, two bathrooms, and an outdoor grill. 

Sounds very promising!  We are actually going up there to visit Madeline Island, the largest of the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior. Other than seeing the island and the historical site, we have no specific plans other than to relax. We will be there at a quiet time, or so we hope, between the summer visitors and the folks who come to the autumn festivals later in the season. We leave the cats in the kind care of our neighbor Peggy, who will see that they are fed and snacked until we return Thursday evening.
