Feeling very fallish today. (Visual pun intended)
I did not sleep all that soundly last night. Tom has recently changed the bed in his bedroom and the cats have not adjusted. As a result, all night long, they were crawling into bed with me and then back out to go check and see if he had come to his senses and put everything back the way it was. A local vet has a sign that says, "Cats like change. As long as it's the same."
Nonetheless I was awake and unable to get back to sleep at six. So I got up, fed the cats, went to the gym and did my treadmill and an abbreviated weight machine circuit. Came home and proofed a document for Tom, then took the Equinox for an oil change, picked up a Papa Murphy's take-and-bake pizza for supper. Came home, had lunch and tried to take a nap. But this morning Tom had decided to shampoo the carpet in his bedroom, and that upset the cats again. Cassidy got in bed with me and lay down, but Sundance kept coming in and complaining before going back to see if Tom's floor had dried, then returning to report that it was still wet and why, why, WHY do these things always happen to her? So not much of a nap.
Tom was unable to find anyone who wanted the old mattress, but he found an article online that told you how to dismantle one and throw the parts away. We now have five big black garbage bags of former mattress lining and stuffing by the garage and naked bedsprings leaning up against the metal we are saving for the scrap metal man. Fortunately it is on the side of the house that is not easily visible from the road. Otherwise it would look like our own little pocket of Appalachia on Berry Road.
Outside was overcast all day, a few spells of drizzles, thus depriving me of the satisfaction of seeing a real rain. Cool, not cold, but still pretty dreary. It is getting dark earlier and with the overcast, it already feels like winter is rushing toward us.
But tomorrow is another day ...
Are you dancing?

As a light sleeper, I just shut the bedroom door some times when I need a nap or an uninterrupted by the pets sleep. Try it 😞
When I shut my bedroom door, the cats come scratching on it within five minutes. They cannot bear to see a closed door where one should be open to their wanderings. Sundance once scratched up two inches of carpet trying to get a door open. Fortunately we had a matching scrap piece that Tom was able to use as a (nearly) invisible patch.
