Closing

This morning we are heading through the fog to Baraboo to the title company to meet with the woman who is buying the house and its eleven acres and then with the guy who is buying the adjacent 25 acres. If all goes as expected, deeds and other papers will be signed, cashier's checks will change hands, keys will be handed over, hands will be shaken and life will have changed for all of us by the time we walk out the door. This is called the closing.

Perhaps not with the same panache as Jack closing that door, of course.

Which calls to mind, for no particular reason, a saying of a sister friend of mine: "When God closes one door, another one opens. But it can be cold, lonely and dark in the hallway in between."

She was the same one who told me, "The truth will set you free. But it will hurt like hell first."

Oh, those Franciscan sisters!

I would have liked THAT Franciscan sister. As for Jack and the hip action. There is no rule that says you can't do the same thing. Happy today!

That Franciscan sister is very wise. I'm glad you were able to close so soon after the move! :)
